A downloadable game

Try my first game that I started for Liminal GameJam! I feel like in total the project is matching the mood of liminality and weirdness. Sorry for that huge reference in the game to midwest emo stuff and for not having the project finished by the end of jam. Drop a comment and thanks for coming!

It was a game!

Well, not quite a game yet. Thanks for your time! Huh, these video reactions are actually very useful for devs.

Your game looks SUPER cool but I can't seem to get it to run, even following the instructions that were provided. Sorry if this is the wrong place to do this, I'm just super eager to play and I was hoping you or another player could help!

Hey! Thanks for trying the project.

This is weird, everything should be fine, there is not much that could break. Are you running on windows? Did you unpack the archive? What is going wrong?

It says "an unexpected error is preventing the archive from being extracted"

That is truely unexpected.

You may try to(according to what I found on the internet):

  • Try re-downloading the archive from the internet as it might be the case that the file is not downloaded correctly or completely.
  • Try extracting other archive files and check if the error occurs with all files or just a few archives. If it occurs with just one archive, the archive is likely damaged. So, you can repair it.
  • Another thing you can do is try shortening the filename of the problematic archive and check if the error has stopped.
  • You can try to move an archive to another folder. One of the primary reasons behind the “The Extraction Operation was not Completed” error is the fact that you are trying to extract an archive file saved in a protected area on your PC. So, move the target archive to a different location like Downloads, Documents, Desktop, etc., and then try extracting the archive.
  • Thy using a different archive extractor and see if it helps. There are several free archive extractor software that you can choose from. To name some, you can use WinRAR, 7-Zip, PeaZip, IZArc, and ExtractNow. These support a wide number of file formats to extract archives. Check if using another file decompressor tool helps you fix the error.

Other than that, I don't think I know what could cause this problem, sorry. Seems like nobody else experienced this problem yet, which makes me think it is something on your side, rather than mine. Thank you for patience.
